"It's okay, Thunder. Really....You still have me. We're all we need...." Mittens sighed, glaring at the box she had made for Bolt.
Thunder stood silently for a long while, her gaze locked onto the dead landscape around them. Before she could even register her own actions, she found herself chasing after the white shepherd.
"Hey! Supermutt!"
Bolt halted, turning his head as he eagerly looked towards the female shepherd as she got closer. He smiled warmly at her, hoping that she had more of an open mind than Mittens did and wanted to accompany him, but he was greeted with a cold glare and gritted teeth.
"...You're really leaving, huh?" Thunder muttered, trying her hardest not to let her voice shake. She could already feel the tears burning at her eyes and was trying like crazy to keep them back. She wasn't about to let him see her weak side again.
"...Y..Yeah.... Penny needs me! ..She's my person and I need to go find her... I know you and Mittens have had a rough time..But she's truly different! She could give you a home, food, love! Penny could make you happy too-"
"They leave, Bolt! They're not perfect! You think that she loves you, but just you watch, they'll leave you behind! They make you feel warm and cozy, like you're really part of the family!"
"Thunder, please..."
"And then... Then.....Then they leave! They abandon you, they show you that you were only a mere plaything that they just got sick of! ....Just to think that I was finally feeling like I could trust someone new... But now you're abandoning us too! You don't need us..... And I- ....WE ..... Definitely don't need YOU." By now the tears were flowing freely down her cheeks, the sand under her paws grinding into her paw-pads. The feelings inside of her felt like an ocean, churning and wild as she fought to hold it all back. "....I was wrong to trust you...." Thunder felt her throat go hoarse as she finally toned her voice back down, backing up before she turned to leave, throwing one last sad glance towards him. "...You're just like them."
